Pauline Anna Stout

Born on September 20, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the firstborn daughter of the late Maydor P. and Isabelle M. (nee Kirkhart) Beaver.

Pauline was the widow of the late Edward M. Keegan. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (nee Tranchilla) Sprigg, and husband, Douglas Sprigg, of Brandon, Florida, and a step-daughter, Debi (nee Keegan) Scharf, of St. Louis, Missouri. She is also survived by her grandson, Matt Sprigg, and his wife, Katye, and beloved great-grandson, Easton, of Denver, Colorado, as well as her nephews Michael Bishop, Jr., and his wife, Teri, of Wentzville, Missouri; Todd Bishop and his wife, Kelly, of O'Fallon, Missouri; and niece, Heather Shallow, and her husband, Mike, of O'Fallon, Missouri.

Pauline is preceded in death by her daughter Monica Tranchilla of St. Louis, Missouri, and by her only sister, Saundra E. Beaver, of Troy, Missouri.

Pauline was a retired mail carrier in St. Louis, Missouri. She enjoyed telling stories of the interesting people she met along her route while she walked, how she had names and addresses memorized of the people on her mail route, and the one time that she was actually robbed at gunpoint!

An enthusiastic reader, Pauline devoured books, fiction and nonfiction. She was a wealth of knowledge about lots of subjects including politics, national news, foreign affairs, medicine, and especially our family history. Her stories will be missed by those that were fortunate enough to have known her.

Pauly, as her close friends called her, was a compassionate woman. She would gladly help a stranger in their time of need without thinking twice. She was a regular contributor to her favorite food pantry just down the street from her home. She also enjoyed playing the lottery weekly, in hopes of hitting it big and sharing the wealth with others! Her empathy was unmatched.

Pauline leaves behind many dear aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.

A private family graveside service will be held at St. John’s Cemetery in Berger, Missouri.
