Peggy A. Burrell

Mrs. Peggy Ann Burrell (nee Moore) Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother was called home by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at South Florida Baptist Hospital on April 13, 2026 in Plant City, FL at the age of 83.

Peggy is survived by her brother Philip E Moore of Alexandria, VA, {Her children: sons Loring and Rolland of Tampa, FL and daughter Crecenda of Brandon, FL. She is preceded in death by Her son Traits Burrell (1991) and husband John Burrell (2023) of Brandon, Fl. She leaves behind grandchildren: Barry, Dena, Kent and Jocelyn, great grandchildren: Jayden, Avah, Treasure, Imperial and numerous Nieces and Nephews; as well as the church family of Progress Village SDA Church of which she was a member since her relocation to Tampa, FL and a host of family and friends.

Peggy was born on May 12, 1942 in Alexandria, VA to John Henry and Martha Moore the only girl of 5 siblings. She attended Luthur Jackson High School in Alexandria, VA, before obtaining an AA degree from NOVA Community college in early childhood care/teaching. She married John, in 1961. where they started their family in Alexandria Va. Over {the years while in Alexandria, the couple welcomed 4 children into their home and Peggy set about teaching them to love the Lord and became members of Emanuel Temple SDA Church Alexandria, VA; where she held numerous positions as well as encouraging her children to pursue their goals. Her family and friends will remember Peggy as a vibrant, smart, loving and kind person who loved the Lord.

Peggy and John relocated to Tampa, FL in 1983 where she became a caregiver and he pursued his entrepreneurial livelihood. In 1984 Peggy and John moved to Brandon, FL where they bought their home and began a home child care business together. Peggy was a generous, dedicated individual who loved children and was passionate about early childcare, providing a loving environment for the children of working parents. She was an active and dedicated member of the Progress Village SDA Church, a deaconess and prison ministry member, she often volunteered at various church activities.

The viewing for Peggy will be held at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home in Brandon, FL on April 30, 2026 from 6-8pm. The Celebration of Life and Home-going is scheduled for May 1, 2026 at 11am at Progress Village SDA Church 7909 Flower Av, Tampa 33619, Pastor Brian Mckinney officiating. The Interment for Peggy and John will follow at Hillsboro Memorial, as well as a light repast. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Peggy’s life.
