

OLIVER, Peggy, 82, of Lakeland, Fla., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014. Peggy was born to Madge and Henry Connor, on Aug. 7, 1932 in Ocala, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 48 years, Raymond Oliver; brother, Larry Connor; grandsons, Ryan and Christopher Oliver. Survivors include her five children, Rodney Oliver, Becky Gerstein, Melissa Liebovitz, Susan McDaniel, Alan Oliver; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Peggy Loved God, her family and her church. Along with her husband she stayed active in the Methodist churches throughout her life. First, in Brandon for over 30 years. And then, in Lake Wales and New Smyrna Beach in the years after. Peggy loved traveling, which included three Olympics, a World's Fair, camping and cruises around the globe where she would dance the night away! Her orchids, volunteering in church and her community, as well as giving back to others kept her busy and fulfilled. Her mantra of "I have never met a stranger" was evident to all and "I was always growing and learning" is how she would like to be remembered. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Stowers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her honor to American Cancer Society.
