Raymond Singletary

Raymond K. Singletary, Sr.,84, of Lake Wales, passed awary at his residence November 13, 2010. Born in Plant City, Florida on July 15, 1926 he lived most of his life in Hillsborough County. He served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946 onboard the USS Jordon DE-204. After the Navy he began working for the Seaboard Coastline Railroad in January 1946 and worked for the railroad until his retirement in May 1991. He then moved to Polk county, living there until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Raymond is survived by his wife of 58 years Hazel A. Presley Singletary, sons: Raymond K. Singletary, Jr. and William (Susan) Singletary. Daughter; Cherie L. (Calvin) Jarrell. Six grandchildren: Cory Singletary, Cody Singletary, William Singletary Jr., Dylan Singletary, Cy (Amy) Jarrell, Casey Jarrell (Brian) Hodgins. three great grandchildren: Cory Singletary, Chelsey and Anna Bella Jarrell. sisters: Marjorie Teel, Cynthia (Cliff) Mays, Gloria McIntosh, Brothers: Paul E (Candy), John D. (Margaret) and Charles. Funeral services will be held, Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the funeral Home Chapel.
