De Arruda, Richard “Dick”, 84, of Brandon, entered into rest June 29, 2014. He was a veteran of the US Navy and spent 3 years on the USS Newport News CA148 and was proud to be a Plankowner. What meant most to Dick was his loving family, the Chicago Cubs and his country. He was preceded in death by his sons, Rick and Ron and his beloved dog, Molly. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Lorretta; sons, Jess, Mike (LeAnn), Dave (Sherry); daughter Linda (Andy) Sobieski; brother, Bob; grandchildren Dan Sobieski, Gina De Arruda, Mindy De Arruda, Shannon Stallworth; and many great-grandchildren. The family will hold a private inturnment at Florida National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.
