We are neighbors of Rich and he was always smiling. I know from the few times meeting him and chatting, that he was a caring individual. It is always so sad when an individual passes away and especially when they are soooooooo nice.
Rest in Peace Rich...........The Federman's (Tampa, FL)

Bertha, Colin and Margaret,
My deepest condolences for your loss. Rich was a good friend. I am always thinking about our time as young Border Patrol Agents in Sierra Blanca, attending your wedding and your welcoming me into your home in both Sierra Blanca and Florida. I last saw Rich for lunch in Washington, DC when he was on his way to Capitol Hill to meet with U.S. Senators. Who would have thought that when we were working the checkpoint in 1982.

Rich was a wonderful person to work with. I knew him since 1996, working on the website for the National Border Patrol Council. He always kept the other agent's welfare and safety in mind, and fought hard for their causes and objectives. He was just a jewel of a person, and will be greatly missed by our entire team.
