Robert is survived by his father, Don L. “Bo” Kimsey; his brother, J. Scott Kimsey; his sister-in-law, Kelly Kimsey; his nieces, Rian Lopez and Nicole Outlaw; and his nephews, Mason and Logan Kimsey and Ryan Pezoldt. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Kimsey.
Robert enjoyed playing guitar and designing and building custom guitar pedals, as well as computer gaming systems. He loved sharing his knowledge—often teaching his nephews how to build computers and his niece how to cook. A talented chef, Robert delighted in creating and sharing meals with family and friends. He also found great satisfaction in the art of knife making, forging blades from scrap metal. A lifelong Star Wars enthusiast, Robert’s imagination inspired him to write science fiction stories and build intricate computer models of spaceships.
Robert was a loving cat dad to his beloved cat, Jinx, of twelve years, whom he rescued from a swamp when she was four weeks old. He loved all animals and often shared stories of his childhood dog, Magnum.
Robert’s presence brought warmth, humor, and ingenuity to everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Stowers Funeral Home, 401 West Brandon Boulevard, Brandon, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
