Robert Lyon

Lyon, Robert Clyde (Bob), 77, of Riverview, Fla., passed away December 26, 2011. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Sherry; stepsons, Steven, Daniel and Richard Deal; sister, Lucy Sue Johnson; brother, George Lyon Jr.; sister-in-laws, Bernetta Lyon and Marcia Lyon; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In H.S. Bob was a superior athlete and attended Fla. Military Academy and St. Paul’s H.S. on full scholarships. He later played on and managed a semi-pro fast pitch softball team called the “Patriots”. Bob was an M.P. in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. After returning to the states, he became a safety professional/consultant for various construction firms. He owned S.B.L. Enterprises, Inc. before retiring, due to health issues. Viewing will take place on Monday, January 2, from 6-8 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, Fla. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, January 3, at 10:00 to 11:00 AM with Memorial Services at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Brandon, 216 N. Parsons Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: First Baptist Church of Brandon and LifePath Hospice of Sun City, Fla.
