Ronald G. Haase, 78, of Lithia, Florida died Sunday, November 25, 2018 following a valiant battle with cancer.

"Ronnie" was born on December 2, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan. The son of Helen (Kolis) and Frank Haase, he grew up surrounded by numerous aunts and uncles. His mother was one of seven children and his father was one of thirteen. Ron was the oldest of the Kolis cousins and never remembered a time when the family wasn't together for holidays, birthdays or Saturday nights when the "adults" were playing cards or just spending time together. This love of family stayed with him throughout his life.

As an avid model airplane enthusiast, Ron was an active member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics since the late 1950's and most recently served as vice-president of the Triple Creek RC Aircraft Club. Ron's passion for this hobby was evident every time you walked into the garage full of all types of airplanes. Until he wasn't able, nearly every weekend of the past 60 years have been spent pursuing this hobby in one form or another.

He was a loyal patriot serving his country with the US Navy Reserve for 12 years as an Anti-Submarine Warfare Operator. Naturally, this position was on board an airplane. As demonstrated throughout his life, Ron gave the Navy 100% and received a Letter of Commendation for scoring the highest grade in his class at Naval Air Technical Training Center, Memphis, Tenn.

Ron took great pride in his community serving in many capacities on the local HOA's where he lived. From various committees to president, he served with honor and commitment. Ron was usually the first one to raise his hand when volunteers were needed.

Ronald was the husband of the late Diane Pacenta Haase and the late Joyce Ann Perry Haase. He is survived by his loving children Michael Haase and Lisa Miller along with his grandchildren Seth Miller (Kelsey), Jessica Miller, Erik Haase, Peace Stegall. Ron's quick wit and dry sense of humor will be missed by all.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater, Florida.

January 24, 2019

Ron was married to my biological mother, Diane Pacenta. I found her a few months after our first son was born in 89. Ron and Diane came up to Virginia so we could meet. My family enjoyed meeting them. We kept in touch and saw them a few times during that year. Ron was family to us. After Diane passed, Ron came up a few times and purchased a fire truck for my son Kiel to ride. We had it for several years and my other son Kristopher enjoyed it also. We lost track of each other and I am sorry to hear the news of Ron. He was good to my family and if we can help, please let me know. Love the McGinleys
