Roy Lynn Goodman

Goodman, Roy Lynn, 81 of Plant City, passed away March 1 after a short but determined battle against cancer. Known by all for his big heart, Roy appropriately came into this world on Valentine’s Day, 1931 in Chandler, OK. Raised on a hardworking dairy farm, Roy opted for higher education at Oklahoma State University after wedding the love of his life, Marjorie Lee Orr. A long and successful career with Ralston Purina gave him the opportunity to call many places “home” before settling in Plant City. In retirement Roy continued an active life of golf, volunteering, hospitality to friends and family, and many Sunday brunches and afternoon movies. Roy is deeply loved and fondly remembered by his Purina family, golfing buddies, friends and neighbors, among whom many have said, “I’m a better person for having known Roy Goodman.” Roy was always a devoted family man who will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by: his adoring wife of 61 years, Marge, daughters Sandy and Kay, son Terry, their spouses, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Roy’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service on March 8th starting at 11:00 a.m. at the Walden Lake Country Club, 2001 Clubhouse Dr, Plant City.
