He was loved as Daddy, Grandpa and Pampa by his children Jamie (Susie) and Susan (Milan), four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Born in Augusta, Kansas, Sam was raised on a farm where he developed a strong work ethic that carried over to everything he accomplished in his life. He moved to Florida, eventually retiring from Florida Steel Corporation after 40 years of employment.
Sam was an avid bowler, enjoyed golf and woodworking and had the ability to fix most anything. He was known for his sense of humor and spirituality; truly caring for family and friends.
It is comforting to think of Sam being greeted in heaven by family and friends, his dignity regained. God bless him always.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Limona Village Chapel UMC, 408 Limona Road, Brandon, Florida 33510. A reception will immediately follow. The family will gather afterwards for interment of ashes at Limona Cemetery.
