She was born on October 18, 1946 in Beckley, West Virginia to the late Eleanor and Charles Sutphin.
Sandi graduated for Beaufort High School in 1964 and following her graduation, attended Winthrop University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in education. Sandi spent a rewarding career in education for over 25 years. Her last position was for Bevis Elementary, where she taught third grade prior to her retirement.
Sandi is survived by her sons, Trent Gain, Grayson Gain; granddaughter, Ella Ryan Gain; brother, Robert Sutphin, and many extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her daughter, Tracey Renee Gain.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or The Wounded Warrior Project.
