Shawn was a huge, kindhearted, fun-loving man that was always ready for a good laugh. He was sarcastic, a smart ass and the first to jump on executing a prank, which he has undoubtedly passed down to his sons. To be around him meant that you were laughing. He loved his family and his friends and would help anyone of them at a moments notice. Many called on him to help with various things from car, house, tech and paintball gun repairs to wanting knowledge about some obscure history or movie fact. It has always been a mystery how he had knowledge of so much.
He was proud to serve in the Navy on the USS Wisconsin BB-64. He enjoyed his service and would tell colorful stories of his time.
He loved paintball, rollercoasters and road trips. He was a crazy movie buff and a big fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning (Stanley Cup Champions 2020) and Buccaneers.
Most of all he loved his family. Shawn’s spirit lives on through his wife of 20 years, Charla; their sons: Xavier (14) and Bryson (12); his brother, Charles (Donny) Conroy and two sisters; Candy (Conroy) Hill and Heather (Conroy) Rascher. He was predeceased by his loving parents: Donald and Marion Conroy.
Visitation will be held at the Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, November 30th, 2020, from 5pm through 7pm. Please feel free to come anytime, but please do not feel obligated. Shawn himself was known to miss a few of these services in past, but it was not due to lack of caring. No one could doubt how much he cared, and he would never doubt yours. There is a link on the Hillsboro Memorial Funeral home page that will allow you to leave a message, memory or photo if you would like. These messages and memories will then be gathered and put in a book for the family.
In this time of uncertainty and unknown, Shawn would want everyone to be safe. Masks will be required as we would not want to endure further tragedy. Shawn loved wearing his Goofy mask. So if you have a funny mask, feel free to wear it. Dress in any way that makes you feel comfortable - Shawn will be, as well.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the charity of your choice.
