Shirley Ruth Papia

Shirley is survived by her three children, Armand Whitman of Brooksville, Felicia Whitman of Zephyrhills, Matthew Papia of Tampa. Five grandchildren Danielle, Alicia, Greg, Keith, and Sean; Four great children Ashley, Wyatt, Julian, Elijah, Two great great grandchildren Waylon and Josiah.

She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Gracie Merritt.

Shirley graduated from Hillsborough High School and married her high school sweetheart Armand Whitman. After moving to Temple Terrace and beginning work as an accounts receivable administrator she also welcomed her children. Her children remember her as a kind driven mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. She was a generous dedicated mother who loved bowling, church, music and her family. She was a dedicated member of the crossing church for most of her life.

A visitation will be held on October 4, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, located at 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511.

The funeral service will follow at the same venue on October 4, 2025, starting at 12:00 pm.
