Our beloved Silbert George Myers died peacefully on October 19, 2020 in Tampa, Florida at the age of 76. From a place of tranquility, Silbert G. Myers was born on April 29, 1944 in St. Thomas, Jamaica WI to the late Charles Myers & Muriel McIntosh. He was the middle of eight children.

Silbert received his primary and post education in the British School system. From there he went on to attend Technical School. One of Silbert’s most notable careers was serving in the Jamaican Defense Force (JDF). In 1969 he migrated to the United States where he lived and worked in Hartford, CT. While living in CT, Silbert met Eval who became the love of his life and after falling in love they decided to move to Tampa, Florida. After moving to Tampa, the two married in 1973 where they shared 32 years together and raised two beautiful daughters. Silbert started his own business, Myers Electronics (TV & Electronics Repair) located on 40th Street in Tampa, Florida. Silbert owned this business where he provided for the community for more than 30 years before he retired.

Silbert took pride in the role of “DAD”! He and his wife Eval set about teaching their daughters the values and qualities needed to become successful members of society and instilling strong family values. His daughters will always remember him as a kind, gentle, and patient father who possessed a tremendous sense of humor and brought much joy to their childhoods. He was the driving force of encouraging them to not only pursue their goals, but to be good positive role models. He had a passion for music, fixing electronics and taking care of his community.
