Silvia Anna Millett

Silvia Millett, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her, passed away on August 16, 2026, at age 82. Born September 9, 1943, in Zielenzig, formerly Germany, now Poland since May 1945. She grew up as the middle child of three. Ilonka, her older sister and Hans, her younger brother, still reside in Germany.

Silvia married Paul Millett in 1965 while he was stationed in Germany. Together, they moved to America and built a family in Bradenton, Florida, before relocating to Brandon, Florida. Silvia was widowed in 1990, remaining single until her death. Silvia was a loving, strong and forgiving soul who tried to instill those qualities in her children. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and cherished everyone, welcoming all into her home and heart. Silvia had one of the purest souls, loving to help and care for everyone.

Silvia arrived in America speaking broken English but strived to better herself. She wanted more than to learn; she mastered English and earned a bachelor’s degree in literature at the University of South Florida while helping others learn English. Silvia became a U.S. citizen in 2005, embracing new customs and blending them with her childhood traditions.

Later in life, Silvia discovered her true passion: researching and uncovering her family's genealogy. She spent hours researching the history of family and friends. Silvia truly loved learning and helping people discover their family roots.

Silvia was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Millett; father, Erick Raasch; and mother, Emma Raasch. She is survived by her children Frank Millett, Denise (Matt) Baker and Ilona (Keith) Townsel; sister Ilonka (Reza) Shalchi; brother Hans (Dana) Raasch; brother-in-law George (Sally) Hoover; sister-in-law Susan Hoover Egler (Tom Gherna); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces; and many close friends.

Silvia’s celebration of life will be announced once the dates are finalized. The family encourages you to share your fondest memories of Silvia that reflect her beautiful heart, and remember her smile, which lit up a room. Rest in peace, Mom.
