Susan Carol Mitchell Barker

Susan Carol Barker, age 63, passed away on Friday January 30th 2015. She was born in Ohio to the late Frederick and Joanne Mitchell, and she is an alumnus of THE Ohio State University. In 1975, she married the love of her life. They had many adventures together and settled in Florida to raise their daughter. In addition to being an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Susan was an active member of the community. She was proud to be a founding member of Tampa Bay Parrot Heads, a major contributor to the Save the Manatee Club and the President of the Women’s Auxiliary AMVETS Post #26. Preceded in death by her parents and her brother Michael Mitchell, Susan is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Martin Robert Barker Jr. “Bob,” daughter Angela Collins and son-in-law Josh, sisters Sandy Pellin (Steve) and Kathy Eaton (Mark), 5 nieces, 4 nephews, 1 cherished grandson and many true friends. Services will be held on Saturday, February 7th. Visitation begins at 11am, followed by a memorial service that starts at 1 pm. Memorial services will be held at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon.
