Sylvia "Angie" Francis

FRANCIS, Sylvia “Angie”, 79, passed away at home in Brandon, Florida February 18, 2015. Angie was born in Carrollton, Georgia. After graduating high school and attending business school in Atlanta, she migrated to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. where she worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company. She met and married John Francis. After working as a homemaker for several years, she returned to Southern Bell where she worked until moving to Brandon in the 1980’s. She earned her real estate license and sold Brandon area homes for several years. When she was in her 50’s, she returned to school and became a registered nurse. Finding her true calling in life as a care giver, she went to work at Tampa General Hospital until her retirement. Angie is predeceased by her husband of 44 years, John. Survivors include her sons, David, Dale and Darryl; daughter-in-law, Christine; daughter, Laura; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Stowers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
