

Wilson, Thomas D., 83, of Brandon, Fla, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2012. He was an area resident for 22 years. Thomas was a member of First United Methodist Church of Brandon and served on the Administrative Board, Finance Committee, and Staff Parish Committee. He was an Army Veteran serving in the Occupation of Japan. He graduated from Arkansas Polytechnic University in 1952 and went to work for McKesson Drug Company for 41 years. After retiring as Vice President General Manager of their Florida Operations he looked for a way to serve his community. He volunteered for the Hillsborough Chapter of Service Corp of Retired Executives, Brandon Service to Mankind Club, board member of the Metropolitan Ministries, Tax Aid, The Performing Arts Center as an usher, and volunteered for many other organizations that benefitted his community. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Margaret Wilson, a son, John Robert Wilson (Mary E.), a daughter, Lorena Ruth Wilson, grandchildren Christopher Thomas Wilson (Jerrae Lyn) and Anthony Robert Wilson, great-grandchildren, Rachael Marrae Wilson, Jackson Dean Wilson, Olivia Nicole Wilson, Gary Robert Wilson and a niece, Kathy Ransom, and many dear friends. A visitation will be held at Stowers Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm followed by a memorial service on Thursday, July 12, 2012, 4 pm at the Logan Chapel of the First United Methodist Church of Brandon 121 N. Knights Ave, Brandon, FL 33510 with burial at New Hope Cemetery.
