Tina was born in Heidelberg, Germany, where her dad was stationed while in the US Army. She grew up in London, England, and Danville, Virginia. When the family settled in London, England, she attended the American School in London, where her father was a science teacher. Tina graduated from ASL in 1980.
After high school, she enrolled in Barnet College, London, where she earned a degree in Nursery Nursing and was granted National Nursery Examination Board certification. She met future husband Manny, in 1988 while he was stationed in England by the US Air Force. They were married in London in 1990.
Tina was a full-time English nanny for many years, a caregiver at a USAF Child Development Center, a daycare provider at our local churches, and a postal clerk at a military postal service center.
Tina was a wonderful mom, who treasured her sons, a devoted daughter who took care of her mum, and a loving wife. She made close friends everywhere her family lived during her husband’s Air Force career and stayed in touch with every single one of them. She was the type of friend who would call or write often and never forget a birthday. For her family, she would decorate and personalize the family ‘party room’ for every special occasion.
She was an avid gardener, who loved anything that grew in the ground and had a remarkable green thumb that could make any plant grow. She loved crossword puzzles, British mystery television shows, tennis (especially Wimbledon), and Cadbury’s chocolate. But mostly, Tina loved her family.
Tina is survived by her husband Manuel Perdomo, sons Zachary and Cameron Perdomo and mother Lorraine Shaw in Brandon, Florida, sister Claire Mochan (Jim), niece Lauren Khan (Shujaat), and nephews Finn and Tayye Mochan in Scotland, Uncle Derek Copeland, and cousins Alison Finch, Rhona Rogers and Simon Copeland in England.
She was preceded in death by her father, Millard Roy Shaw and brother Richard Millard Shaw.
