Toy M. Johnson

Toy is survived by her three kids Marie Morse, Chris Johnson and Erica Connell. Also her brother, William Burgess and her sister, Patricia King.

Toy was born January 22, 1939 in Pikeville, Kentucky to William “Billy” Burgess and Dixie Nora Stevens. Toy was preceded in death by her husband Elmer and her sister Avinelle.

She married the love of her life, Elmer Johnson, on October 13, 1956. They shared this love for the next 66 years of her life.

Toy enjoyed babysitting, looking for bargains, and going to church with her loving husband.

She also enjoyed listening to gospel music. She was always around her family.

If you knew Toy, you most likely knew her from Church, always praying and kissing the babies. She always wore a smile on her face and there wasn’t one person that she didn’t hug and tell them “I love you”!

She babysat for many years and loved all the kids as though they were her own.

Toy had 3 children: Marie Morse of Ruskin, Florida. Chris Johnson (Clair) of Kite, Georgia and Erica Connell (Donald) of Valrico, Florida.

She had 9 grandchildren: Doug Morse, Austin Connell, Katlynn Connell, Nathan Allman, Shianne Johnson Adkins, Savannah Johnson, Chloe Johnson, Jose Morse and Christian Burns.

As well as 5 great grandchildren that she loved spending time with: Khayri Battle, Eleanor Ruby Allman, Henry Allman, Blake Adkins and Kirby Williams

A visitation for Toy will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at First Free Will Baptist Church, Seffner FL, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery, 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511 following at 3 PM.
