Valerie Wilson

Valerie Jo (Burnett) Wilson, 56, died Wednesday, November 25, 2015 after a year and a half long battle with lung cancer. She passed away at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX in her husband’s arms. She was born December 2, 1958, the daughter of William Burnett and Mary (Hunter) Priest. After graduating high school in Karlsruhe, Germany, Val moved to Maine and had her daughter Brooke (Colello) Sperry. Val met her soulmate, Bob Wilson and they started working together at Valcom in Portland, Maine. They fell instantly in love and were married January 9, 1982 and had their daughter, Brianne (Wilson) Trinchetto in April. Val and Bob enjoyed motorhoming, motorcycle rides, skiing, snowmobiling, camping and especially time with their three daughters Amanda (Wilson) Abeson, Brooke, and Brianne. In 2003 Val and Bob moved to Florida to start a new chapter in their life. It was then Val tried a few different things - Starbucks Barista, office manager, and owner/manager of a Menchies Frozen Yogurt franchise. Val had a huge impact on everyone she came in contact with. Her positive energy and outlook on life was infectious. She loved to make others smile. The word she lived by was “Believe” and all those who knew her knew it. She will be deeply missed. Val is survived by her mother, Mary (Hunter) Priest, stepdad, John Priest, husband, Bob Wilson, daughters, Amanda (Wilson) Abeson, Brooke (Colello) Sperry, Brianne (Wilson) Trinchetto, their spouses Jeffrey Abeson, Daniel Sperry, and Adam Trinchetto, her beloved grandchildren Keegan Abeson, Bennett Abeson, Avery Abeson, Sage Colello, Pearl Sperry, Logan Trinchetto, and Grace Holt-Rubin, her sisters Victoria Scully and Dawn Kipps. Memorial Service will be held 3pm Wednesday at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, Brandon. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Lazydays Employee Foundation
