Vance is survived by his beloved and cherished wife of 61 years, Beverly Jean Gordon; Children, Donna Jean Tillett (Tim), Kenneth Vance Gordon (Michelle); Grandchildren Aaron Tillett, Patrick Tillett (Jenna) & Joshua Gordon; Great Grandchildren, Hunter, Wyatt, & Cash Tillett. He is preceded by his parents, Vance Gordon, Sr. & Sarah Gordon.
Vance was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and bravely served in the Korean War. Later in life he retired as a District manager from the Chrysler Corporation after 35 years.
Vance was well accomplished at woodworking and often built special pieces for his loved ones. All who knew Vance knew his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. The legacy of Vance’s kind spirit and overall zest for life will carry on through them. He was fiercely passionate and protective over his family and friends.
He was a dedicated member of New Hope Methodist Church. He was also proud to be titled a First Degree Mason. In addition, he was an avid fisherman who loved his time spent on the water. Later in life, he became a member of Rock Steady Kick Boxing for Parkinson’s.
To celebrate and honor the life of Vance “Flash” Gordon a Viewing Service will take place, Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 4:00 -6:00 pm at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens located at 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday, September 23, 2019 at 10:00 am at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens located at 2323 West Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Vance’s life.
