Vernon Rodney Hess, 87, of Lithia Florida, formerly of Russell Kentucky, passed away in his daughter's home January 21st, 2019. He was born November 22nd, 1931 in Ashland Kentucky to the late Rodney and Ruth Hess. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, in 2017.
He proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and was a retired electrician of CSX Railroad, a Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the Russell First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter Debbi Hess Rappa (John), granddaughters Katie Rappa and Amanda Nakamine (Sam), and great grandchildren Lydia and Aiden.
Funeral Services were held and he was laid to rest at the Sarasota National Cemetery on January 29th, 2019.
He will be missed and loved by his family, friends, and anyone fortunate to know him.
