Vernon Lane Jackson

October 15, 1940January 27, 2018

Jackson, Vernon Lane, 77, passed away January 27, 2018. Born in Portsmouth, NH, he moved to Illinois in 1959 after high school graduation. He held various jobs and ended up at Ford Motor Co. in Melrose Park, IL, where he retired after 33 years. Wesleyan by faith, he loved camping, fishing and cruising. He is predeceased by his mother, Elmyra (Jackson)Jacobs and step father Elzie Jacobs, older brother Kenneth L. Jackson and twin brother Victor L. Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beverly J. Jackson, daughter, Annette (Jackson) Gentile, Shivley and 3 grandchildren, Matthew Gentile, Joseph Gentile and Nicole Gentile. He and Beverly moved to Brandon, FL in March 2015. Visitation will be Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 1 pm, with funeral service at 2 pm, both at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 W Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL. Burial will follow at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org

Jim DeLong and family offer their deepest condolences to Bev and family. They were such wonderful neighbors, always looking out for Jim and Augie. They shared many meals and holidays together and it gave us peace of mind to have them close by. We pray for the family's comfort and peace!

I am sorry to read of the passing of your loved one, Vernon. He will be missed. Losing a loved one in death is never easy.
