Veronica V. Hill was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica West Indies. She was the first of eight children born to Francella and Ralph Wedderman. Veronica Hill was a Seamstress while living in Jamaica West Indies. In 1951 she married Ivan S. Hill in the Pentecostal Ministry and the union produced four children. Veronica was given the opportunity to travel to England in the 1960s when she was invited to join a close friend. It was not easy while living there, but survived the hardships during her stay. Again in the late 1960 that another close friend invited her to migrate to the United States. After doing days work with the Sherman Jewish Family they offered to hire her as a Housekeeper and later sponsored her to become a permanent resident of the United States. She stated it was a good opportunity, as she wanted to help her children further themselves in life. The dream of having all the children migrate to the United States came to fruition in 1972. As times went on she shifted her place of employment to join Terrace Heights Hospital as a Housekeeper, but not until she had found a replacement for the Sherman Family. Terrace Heights Hospital eventually closed, but she soon found a job with Long Island Jewish Hospital as a Housekeeper. In a short time, she quickly moved up to the position of Certified Nursing Assistant where she received on the job training by the hospital. She continued her career there until retirement. In 1990, Veronica Hill relocated to Tampa, Florida to be close to her children where she met many friends and traveled with them on several cruises. Mother Veronica Hill continued her walk as a child of God at several Pentecostal Church in the Tampa Bay area and was always active in the Church. She loved to cook and loved to go shopping. Generosity was one of her key traits as well as passing on an encouraging word to others.

Veronica Hill is survived by her children, Patrick, Pansy, Stephen, Nathaniel and Janet; grandchildren, Natisha, Lloyd, II, Corey, Jamal, Diamond and Eleana; great-grandchildren, Shamar, Tajai, Jah’Zara, Morgan and Kimori; siblings, Norma Graham and Pearl Lawson; goddaughter, Samantha Johnson; in-laws, Marilyn Dias, Donna Stork, Erica Walters-Thompson, Amy Hill, Lloyd Walker, and Paul Higgins; nieces, Jackie Wilson and DesMarie Cuecas.
