Victor H. Rodrigues

RODRIGUES, Victor Hugh (86) passed away Friday July 28th, 2017 at his home in Riverview, FL. A Tampa resident since 1980, Victor was born on June 27th 1931 in Georgetown, British Guiana. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Imogene and his children Hugh of Thornton Labs (Patsy), Wendy Suarez of The Mosaic Company (Anthony), Richard of Rodrigues Roofing & Waterproofing (Donna), Jennifer Darchiville cosmetologist (Francis), and Oliver of Florida Transportation Engineering. Grandfather of Christina Darby (Cory), Victor Suarez (Vanessa Maria), Jackeline Vanessa Suarez, JP (Brittany), Brian, and Gabrielle Lanigan. Great-grandfather of Angel, Illiana, Reylina, Ava, Kimberly, Natalie and Finn-John. Great-great grandfather of Abraham. Uncle of Nadine Lorraine and Lancelot Rodrigues-Morciglio. Brother-in-law of James Seetram (Zita) of Guyana and Herman Seetram (deceased) (Yvonne) of Jacksonville.

He was preceded in death by his mother Kathleen Arthur, father Julio Rodrigues (Barbados), sister Othella Smith (London), and brothers Othmar Arthur (Ireland) and Lancelot Rodrigues (Puerto Rico).

Before migrating to Florida, he was a law clerk and office manager for Cameron & Shepherd, Attorneys-at-Law the oldest law firm in Guyana. In Tampa he worked for Gregory, Coors, Paniello, Johnson, Hayes, & Hoff, Attorneys-in-Law; Johnson, Paniello & Hayes, Attorneys-at-Law; Market Street Mortgage Company; and Chase Mortgage Division.

The family will receive friends at Stowers Funeral Home [401 W. Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511] on Thursday August 3rd from 6pm-8pm followed by a Mass on Friday August 4th at 10am at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church [6404 E. Chelsea St, Tampa, FL 33610] with internment at Sunset Memory Gardens [11005 N. US Hwy 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592].
