

Wally was born on December 15, 1935 in Pontiac, MI. He had seven brothers and sisters. Wally and his siblings were orphaned early and were raised at Mooseheart School for Children where Wally enjoyed sports as a member of the school’s football team. After graduating from Mooseheart School, he moved to NY and went on to study nursing at Grasslands School of Nursing, Valhalla, NY.
After graduation, Wally began his nursing career in psychiatry at Westchester Medical Center where he spent the entirety of his career. He was a loyal and faithful employee who put his heart into his work with the mentally ill.
In 1981, he met Cindy Parsons, while they were both working at the Westchester Medical Center. They were wed in 1984 and had two sons, Ryan and Matthew. He also has three children from a previous marriage, David, Wendy, and Carolyn.
After retiring in 1991, Wally was a devoted father who spent his time raising two sons and was actively involved in their sports and scouting activities. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved to visit their spring training camps. In addition, he volunteered for the Brandon Hospital Auxiliary and was a longtime member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
Wally is survived by his wife, five children, ten grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Memorial Service held in honor of Wally’s life at St. Andrews United Methodist Church on Feb. 5th 2022. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Mooseheart Child City and School or The United Methodist Children’s Home.
