Wesley was born on January 2, 1935 in South Dakota. He was adopted by his parents, Gilbert
and Luella Dale and raised on a farm in Minnesota. He left high school early to join the military
and proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years.
He traveled the world during his military career. He met his future brother-in-law, Anthony
DeBeradinis, during his early years in the military and brought him home to meet his family while
on leave. Anthony later married Wes’s younger sister Violet. They have been married for 68
years.
While stationed in Spain, Wes met the love of his life, Maria. He quickly learned to speak
Spanish and convinced her to return to the United States with him where they were married for
48 years until her death in 2005.
He is survived by his daughter Debora Dale Luzey, son in law Cesar Omar Luzey, his grandson
Anlon Xavier Luzey, his granddaughter Ella Maria Luzey, and his sister Violet DeBeradinis,
along with many nieces, nephews, and a very large extended family. He was a very proud
father, father-in-law, and grandfather.
Wesley was very devoted to his church, Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. The pastors
from his church as well as countless members of the congregation brought him comfort in his
declining years and in his final days.
He is already dearly missed by his family and community.
