William G. Murray

MURRAY, William G., 70, passed away April 29, 2014 peacefully as he lived his life. Born in Massapequa, N.Y., he served in the U.S. Air Force as a Corpsman in Minot, N.D. He married the love of his life, Maureen on July 4, 1964. They moved to New Providence, N.J. in 1970 where they raised their family. He worked as a municipal bond broker in New York City and also served as a Captain in the New Providence Volunteer Fire Department. In 1985 he moved to Boca Raton, Fla. where he continued his career. He became a member of the Florida Municipal Bond Club and served on the committee until his passing. He later moved to Tampa to be closer to his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maureen; son, Patrick Murray, daughter, Colleen Patterson; grandchildren, Peyton and Jacob Patterson; brothers, Thomas Murray and John Murray; sister, Joan Quinn and a large extended family. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m, Friday, May 2, 2014 at Stowers Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Seffner, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami.
