Wilma Jean Klosicki, loving mother of four and adoring wife to Michael T Klosicki (deceased) joined her Lord savior on December 18, 2022 at her residence in Lutz Florida. Jean was born on May 24, 1935 in Clarksburg West Virginia, the last child born to Okey Scott Starkey and Lilly Mae Starkey. Still a child, at the onset of WWII, the family moved to Baltimore Maryland where she resided until she married Michael Klosicki, a United States Air Force serviceman.
Jean traveled to several locations at the side of her husband spending time in Japan (Misawa Air Base), the Philippine Islands (Clark Air Base), and Germany (Ramstein Air Base). Stateside locations included George AB in Victorville CA, Davis-Monthan AB in Tucson AZ, England AB in Alexandria, LA, Macdill AB in Tampa, FL, Eglin AB near Ft Walton Beach, FL, and Fairchild AB in Spokane, WA.
Jean spent the majority of her adult years supporting her husband and her children. She did so with passion, often volunteering to lead base wide social gatherings, occasionally leading in the singing of the National Anthem at important military events. When her children were young, Jean could often be found at various PTA events - once very successfully dancing as a stunning Radio City Rockette. Jean came to be known as the “Bell Lady”, due to the loud cow bell she rang at many, many youth events her children, and their children, participated in.
After her husbands death, Jean taught herself how to play the electric organ spending countless hours perfecting her skill and eventually playing/singing at family get togethers. Jean moved back to Tampa, FL but never lost her passion for special causes. Here she joined a national movement (1984 – 1986) with the National Federation of Decency and actively picketed 7-Eleven, and later Circle K, stores until they stopped selling sexually oriented magazines in general audience, or “family”, settings. (PICKETING SATAN ENFLESHED AT 7-ELEVEN: A RESEARCH NOTE authored by William H. Swatos, Jr, Black Hawk College, September 1988).
Jean eventually joined the work force, working for School Book Fairs as well as independently as a Youngevity representative where she often appeared on locally televised 30 minute segments promoting the benefits of Youngevity nutrition products until her retirement in 1998.
In retirement, Jean often hosted activity rich sleepovers for her young family descendants making sure everyone took home a memory they will never forget. For several years, Jean joined with her sisters and their +1’s to entertain hundreds of seniors at various local senior centers and other venues as a proud member of a Boomba ensemble.
Jean is predeceased by all of her immediate Starkey siblings (Bo, Cecil, Ruby, Betty, and Violet) as well as her numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jean is survived by her children: Michael Klosicki (Emma, Land O Lakes, FL), Debra Tangen (Richard, Minot, ND), Richard Klosicki (Punta Gorda, FL), and Daniel Klosicki (Cynthia, Lutz, FL) as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
