Winton Ray Whitehurst, 61, of Apollo Beach, Florida beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to be with our Lord on August 12th, 2015. Ray retired after many years as a foreman from CSX railroad. He is survived by parents B.T. “Tommy” and Willie Mae Whitehurst, sons Ray Whitehurst , Anthony Whitehurst (Frances) and grandsons, Austin, A.J., his “little buddy” Jaxon and great-granddaughter, Jenny. He is also survived by his brother, Ben Whitehurst (Julie), nieces, Madison and Molly, sister Melissa Rodriguez (Jack), nephew Luc , nephew Mark Moyer (Shannon) great-niece, Ella Rose, sister Lynn Lyle (Scott), niece Tiffanie, nephew Clint and extended loving family. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Marie, his brother, Thomas Ray and sister, Deanna Moyer. Ray loved fishing, traveling, nature, experiencing new things, but most of all spending time with family. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 16th between 3-4pm and a funeral service on Monday, August 17th at 10am both to be held at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Ray’ memory.
