Alexander Hammond

Passed away peacefully on his 82nd birthday, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 1, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre. Loving husband of 54 years to the late Mary “Bea” Hammond; cherished father of Marie (David) Campbell, Frank, and Jack (Katy) Hammond. Alexander will be dearly missed by grandchildren Neil, Heather, Shawn, Krista and Jordan. Survived by brother-in-law Harold Ednie, and nephew Hal (Dianne). Alexander did volunteer work for many years at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He also served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 11 years. At Alexander’s request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 133 Murray Street, on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 11 am. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Alexander may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
