Peacefully, at his home in Paris, ON, in his 86th year. Devoted husband of Ann Patricia. Predeceased by his first wife Louise. Loving father of Stephen (Michelle). Dear opa of Fionn. Will be sadly missed by many siblings, nieces and nephews here and in Germany. Alexander emigrated from Germany to Canada in 1952. He was an employee of Stelco in Brantford for over 30 years and one of the founding members of the German Club in Brantford where he was also a member of the Narragonia. Alex enjoyed life to the fullest, enjoying time with family and friends, he was often referred to as the family historian. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West Street, on Monday, July 16th, 2012 from 1pm-3pm, with a Memorial Service being held in the chapel at 3pm. Cremation. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Stedman Community Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
