John Stanley Paterson

Passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 29th, 2012 at Norfolk General Hospital in his 91st year. Predeceased by his wife Bernice Patterson. Loving father of Jay Paterson and Cathy (Bob) Bergmann. Loving grandfather of Samantha Paterson, Jacqueline Paterson, Alex Bergmann and Eric Bergmann. Predeceased by his father Stanley, mother Vera, sisters Veneta Schleihauf, Helen Kokerus, Robina Jordan and brother Douglas Paterson. World War II Veteran and member of Branch 79 Legion, Simcoe. Lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 1679 and former usher at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the “Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home and Chapel”, 96 West Street on Thursday, May 3rd from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Parish Prayers at 2pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly St., on Friday, May 4th at 11:00 am. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Community Care Access Centre, Haldimand – Norfolk would be appreciated by the family.
