

Surrounded by her loving family at the Brantford General Hospital on Friday January 31, 2014 in her 92nd year. Daughter of the late Maksym and Ahafia Chauszcz. Predeceased by her husband Michael (1995). Cherished mother of Mary Hrynkiw and Christine Jacobson. Dearest Baba of Alycia Jacobson (predeceased by her son-in-law Robert Jacobson). Beloved sister of Ann Huska and Joseph (Joan) Chausic. Adored aunt to Mary Anne and Don Gordon. She will be fondly remembered by her other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Mary Cooley, niece Jean George, nephew Jason Chausic, brothers-in-law Peter Huska and Peter Cooley. She will be missed by many friends including her feline companion Molly. Julia was a life long member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist, a member of the C.W.L., the International Village Committee and Village Ukraina. The family wish to extend their appreciation to all staff of C7 Palliative Care at the Brantford General Hospital for their comfort and support. Family and Friends will received at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL” 96 West Street on Wednesday February 5th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Ukrainian Prayers (Panachyda) at the funeral home Wednesday at 6:30 pm. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist, 100 Terrace Hill Street on Thursday February 6th at 11:00 am. Rev. Father Bogdan Mironovich to officiate. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
