Lance Sams

Peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital, Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday March 28, 2017 in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Marlene. Dear father of Marc (Amanda), Brad (Misuk), Lisa (Chris ) Miller, and Dianna Brownell. Caring grandfather of Dakota, Ruby, Anthony, Chris and great grandfather to Emma, Brianna and Samuel. Lance graduated with a master’s degree in ED from Ohio University and a master’s degree in Social Work from Western Reserve University in Ohio. He was Director of Services at Brantford children’s aid and six nations in Ohsweken from 1968-1985. In 1986 he accepted a position as Director of Lutheran services in Florida. A few years later he became Director of Hospice in Palm Harbor Florida. Lance was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Brantford. While living in Florida he was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Dunedin. He was an active member of the Brantford Probus Club for many years. The family would like to thank the staff at Palliative care for their exceptional care. A Celebration of his life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 57 Brant Avenue on Saturday April 15th at 1:00 pm. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to Faith Lutheran Church or the organization of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
