Louis lost the love of his life, Goldie, in 1998. The inscription on the stone where Goldie lies, reads “Until we meet again.” That time has now come. Louis and Goldie raised a large family of six children. Louis was a loving father to Les, John, Kathy, Robert, Paul and Chrissy, and their spouses. He was also Grandfather to Scott, Jeff, Lisa, Jason, Brent, Laura, David, Jacob, Jeanette, Danny, Sarah and Joshua. Great Grandfather to 14 wonderful great grandchildren. As one can see, Goldie and Louis have left a fantastic legacy in the form of a large and still growing family.
Louis was born in the village of Rukamaz, Hungary, where as a small boy growing up, the Tokaj mountains were the edge of the world. He came to Canada with his family as a young boy of 8 years old. He grew to love his new home and the opportunities it offered him. Louis enjoyed spending time with family along with gardening, cooking, dancing, watching the Leafs (sometimes) and inventing things that made life easier. He was a man of integrity, kindness, and generosity. Louis will be sadly missed, remembered and loved forever by all who knew him.
Louis and the family would like to thank those who cared for him at Brierwood Gardens and especially his caring nurses Rose and Henry. Louis will be resting at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West St., Brantford. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 6-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly St., on Friday, October 25th, 2019 at 11am. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
