Mary Catharine McKenzie Doucette

Doucette Mary – After a brief illness on August 29, 2013 surrounded by the love of her daughter and son-in-law, Mary went to be reunited with her loving husband Johnny of 53 years (2003). Predeceased by her only son Wayne (1984). Cherished mother of Darlene (Berry) dearest mother-in-law to Gary. Loving grandma to Dwayne (Tara) Doucette, Randy (Jackie) Doucette, much loved 'Groms' to Trevor Berry. Great Grandma to Danielle, Carter, Ethan and Brianne. Mary is survived by her brothers Vincent and Louis, sisters Theresa, Lauretta, Carmel, Lois, all of New Brunswick. Predeceased by her siblings Elsie, Arvilla, James, and Thomas. Many sisters and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Mary retired from Texpack in 1990 and has since enjoyed her retirement. She loved to cook and bake, but her real love was for family. She loved to spend time with her grandsons and the great grandchildren. The children’s visits would bring a joyful smile to her precious face. Mary was described as having a beautiful smile and a colourful sense of humour. Renowned for giving nick names to the staff.

Thank you to the staff of St Joseph's Life Care Center, Hummingbird Way for caring for Mary like she was your own mother. Thank you to Dr. Donna Allen for your care and concern. Thank you to Shirley for all the visits you made to brighten her day. Thank you to Helen and Liz for all the joy and laughs you shared. A special thank you to Nicole for your kindness and thoughtfulness.

As per Mary's wish, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass celebrating Mary's life will be on Saturday September 7 at 10 AM at St. Basil’s Roman Catholic Church. Donations in Mary's memory may be made to Stedman Community Hospice Center.
