Beloved wife of John Mokrzycki (1989), loving mother of Thomas (Linda) of Oakville, Ontario, cherished grandmother (Babcia) of Julie (Rob) and Jeff (Jeannine) and dear great grandmother of Hayley, Lauren, Hannah and Hayden and aunt to her nephew Bogdan (Alexandra) and her niece Alicia (Jan). Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Mary was born in Bieliny, Poland. During World War II, Mary was involuntarily taken from her home to Germany where she endured forced labor. Mary met her future husband John there and they were married in Germany in 1945. They emigrated to Canada (Belleville, Ontario) in 1948-49 and soon after settled in Brantford, Ontario. Mary was a dedicated member of St. Joseph`s Roman Catholic Church and an active member of the Polish Combatants Association, the Polish Canadian Senior Citizens Club Brantford, and the St. Joseph`s CWL. For over 63 years, Mary was a member of the Polish Alliance Ladies Circle – Branch #10, receiving recognition from the Province of Ontario for over 50 years of volunteer service.
A special thank you to all of the staff at St. Joseph`s Life Care Centre in Brantford for the care and support they provided to Mary during her time there.
Family and friends will be received at the Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home & Chapel, 96 West Street, Brantford, Ontario, on Wednesday April 6, 2022, from 7:30 to 9 pm with Rosary at 7:00 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph`s Roman Catholic Church, 235 Brant Ave., Brantford, on Thursday April 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph`s Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph`s Life Care Centre, Brantford, will be appreciated by the family.
