Surrrounded by the love of her family Shirley in her 81st year has joined her loving husband, of over 60 years, Earl. Shirley is predeceased by her parents, Thomas James Johnson and Mary Helen Crocock and mother-in-law Mary Dooley. Dear mother of David (Debbie) and Earl (Denise). Beloved Gramma of Stephanie and Jacqueline (Dennis Riches). Beloved Diddle-Dee of Matthew and Ryan. Money cake maker and Great Gramma Shirley of Cole and Logan Riches. Loving sister of Marjorie Barclay, Betty Johnson (Ted, deceased), Tommy Johnson (deceased), Joyce (Terry) Fullerton (deceased), Gordon (Barbara) Johnson (deceased), Mary Dickson (Keith, deceased), Kathleen (Lloyd) Philipow and Charles (Violet) Taylor. Predeceased by her brother-in-law Gus Warren (Edna deceased), and sister-in-law Eleanor Warren (Leslie) (deceased). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Shirley was a retired employee of Ascolectric with over 20 years of service. Shirley spent her years of retirement working as one of the “sample ladies” at Costco. She will also be remembered for her wonderful meat pies, and baking. Shirley always spoke of the importance of family so a special Thank you to Maggie, Jeannie, Dewey and Butchie for all their love and support at a time when it was needed most. Thank you to all the nieces and nephews especially Tracey, Kelly and Kathleen (klickety heels), Joanne, Maryann, Laurie, Corrina, Gord, Danielle, Chuckie, Tia, Tawny, Meghan and Erin for taking time to visit and share memories. Special thoughts and prayers to Danielle, Chuckie and Violet.

The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME and Chapel” 96 West Street on Thursday July 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Friday July 19, 2013 at 2:00 pm. followed by cremation.
