Teenie was born in Elma, Manitoba on March 8, 1925 to Paul and Sophie Stastook. Predeceased by her husband Mike (2004) and son Norm (1997). Loving mother of Garry (Marilyn), Rick (Pat), Len (Ann), and Mark (Cheryl). Dear Grandma to Jeff, Paula, Chris, Jason, Brent, Erin, Stephen, Kyle, and Jenna. Great-Grandma to nine. Teenie will be sadly missed by her siblings Tony and Helen.
Teenie along with her husband Mike were active for many years in the family business, Mike Dubecki Homes Limited, even after turning the business over to their sons. She was always happy to travel back to Manitoba where she grew up so that she could celebrate special occasions with her family and friends. Those times were very special to her. She was a long time member of St. John’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Brantford, and very active in the CWL, the church choir and later in the Sunflowers Seniors Group. The church is where Teenie met her long time best friend, the late Mary Dancavitch. Teenie’s wonderful meals including perogies, cabbage rolls, and shish kabobs highlighted our family gatherings. Grandma always made sure that her basement fridge was well stocked with ice cream and other treats.
The family would like to send a special Thank You to the staff of St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre, Bluebird Unit for their excellent and compassionate care.
Friends will be received at the THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME, 96 West St., on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 7-9pm. A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of St John, 92 Terrace Hill St., on Monday, August 15, 2022 at 12pm. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy donations to St. Joseph’s Lifecare Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada would be appreciated. Memories and condolences may be shared below.
