Loving and devoted father of Will (Karli) Cass, Abby (Travis) Lamoure, Ben (Amanda) Sibbick. Cherished grandfather to Nixon, Avaia and Ashton Cass, Emmett Lamoure and Carolina Sibbick. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Lena and his parents Bill and Frances Cass. He was brother to Mary Ann (Wayne d.) Dean, Paula (Dennis d.) Jarvis, Arlene Cass, Jerry (Andrea) Cass, Jason (David Lockwood) Cass, Janelle (Scott) Hager. Bill will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Bill was a quiet, loyal family man who never missed an opportunity to enjoy a family gathering, lend a helping hand, or give his opinions on various matters. Along with a dry sense of humour, he had a fashion conviction consisting of Levi 501’s , a white T shirt and favourite hoody. Bill spent many a proud moment in the gym, arena, sports field and in the backyard with his children and grandchildren cheering on their various activities
Some of his happiest days were in the company of many lifelong friends chasing the elusive second ‘ hole in one’ at Northridge or the ‘big catch’ at one of his favourite fishing holes. The day was always rounded off with good food, cold beer and a strong laugh.
Bill’s interest in cars led him to a career in transportation and an opportunity to own his own business eventually retiring from a position with the City of Brantford.
The family will receive friends at the "THORPE BROTHERS' FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL", 96 West St. on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Masks are mandatory for all indoor gatherings and will be available should you need. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions the Mass of Christian Burial will be private.
As an expression of sympathy our Dad would have liked the idea of all us extending a kindness to someone in need in his name or donating to a charity of their choice.
