Anne was born and raised in Philadelphia, where she attended school, graduating from Roxborough High School. She later married and began working at Ruben H. Donley, which would eventually become part of AT&T. She took a break from work, and gave birth to her son in 1968. While raising her son she spent much of her time volunteering for The March of Dimes, and as a poll worker during elections. She was widowed in 1985 after the sudden death of her husband. She remarried in 1989 and traveled extensively with her husband before settling down in the Pacific Northwest. After her second husband passed away she began working as a job coach for people with developmental disabilities with CARES of Washington. Upon retiring again she began volunteering at Harrison/St. Michael Medical Center.
Anne's real passion in retirement was quilting. Over the years she produced countless beautiful quilts for friends and family. Her talent and creativity were only dwarfed by her kindness and giving nature. She joined the Violet E. Carlson Memorial Guild and continued to make quilts as well as work on their Festival of Trees during the holidays. The guilds fundraising projects raise money for programs and services for St. Michaels Medical Center, and was the center of her universe. Anne's devotion to family and community will be greatly missed.
Anne is survived by her son Nick Rodgers, and her daughter in law Suzie.
A celebration of life will be held at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home in the chapel on November 13th at 1:00.
