Barbara, the beloved wife of David Lee Boyde, was born on August 26, 1957 in Des Moines, Iowa to Barbara Jean (Grant) and Henry Lee Titus and died on March 2, 2014 in Bremerton, Washington. Barbara is survived by her husband of 37 years, 3 children; Constance, Steven and Timothy; 4 grandchildren; Gwenevere, Daniel, Tevan and Tristan and 2 sisters; Susan and Cynthia.
Barbara was a loving and giving person both in her personal and professional lives. She loved her family and friends dearly, always giving everything she had and expecting little in return. She was a doting grandmother and loved to spoil her grandchildren.
Moving several times while a child, her family finally settled in Phoenix, Arizona. It was in Phoenix that she met her future husband, David in 1975 and they were married there on September 17, 1977. Making their first home in Florida in 1977, they moved one last time to Bremerton, Washington in 1980.
Professionally, Barbara started out as one of the first female Reserve Deputies for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department in Phoenix from 1975 to 1977. She spent over 20 years at Bangor and Pugent Sound Naval Shipyard in the Safety Office ensuring the safety of hundreds of shipyard workers. She especially enjoyed her off-station assignments in San Diego and Japan. Showing her adventurous side, Barb went skydiving twice while in San Diego.
She and her husband enjoyed an Alaskan cruise and a Hawaiian cruise, and spent an extra week visiting their daughter and grandsons in Honolulu. She also took her granddaughter to Hawaii one year for Thanksgiving. Barbara tried to spend as much quality time as she could with Gwen and they enjoyed both the Nutcracker and Cinderella ballets.
She enjoyed music from the 60's and 70's, old westerns and police/crime shows, especially reruns of Dragnet and Adam-12.
Barbara will be deeply missed by her family, friends and co-workers. Gone much too soon, she is finally resting peacefully.
Friends are invited too attend a Memorial Service celebrating Barbara's life, Monday, March 10th 5 p.m. at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home, 5505 Kitsap Way, Bremerton, Washington.
