On January 1, 2001, Benjamin entered and completed our family with a true heart of pure affection. His bright eyes, shining smile and constant kisses, infused joy in us all. He shared many wise words at an early age. Ben was fiercely loyal to those he loved. He created and mandated the “group-hug” to soften family quarrels. Not one of us could resist his little body and big heart pulling us all together in an embrace, while encouraging us to love and be kind to each other.
Ben loved to climb high – up cabinets for a dip in the dish tub or a taste of the gingerbread house, every door jam, any lucky tree, the top of the playground (falling more than once). He ascended numerous mountains and scaled up to high cliffs to then jump with his trusted brother, Joshua, whom he looked up to. Ben was honored to be a Boy Scout in Troop 1539. He expressed a patriotic spirit and would salute any flag he passed. Tears streamed down his cheeks when veterans were celebrated at Mt. Rushmore, and it was a proud day when he took his oath as a junior ranger in Yellowstone. Ben was an artist and a poet of words. He loved meeting and talking with all people and enjoyed books, classical music, gaming with his friends, his motorcycle, 3-D creation, Japan, anime, and animals, especially his cat, Svez. Ben was a unique being, excelling in everything he did. Benjamin’s mom and dad will forever regard him with unwavering reverence.
Benjamin was a proud faithful servant of God and Country. He took pride in his service as an E4 Petty Officer Third Class, CE Seabee in the United States Naval Reserve and as a Marine Electrician in Shop 51 at PSNS. Benjamin was an erudite. Often, expressing great enthusiasm in learning and the pursuit of knowledge. He valued and embodied trustworthiness, honesty, friendship and had a keen reverence for nature. Ben was an honorable and resilient son, brother and friend to many. He is eternally cherished and will be deeply missed by his family.
A memorial service will be held December 6, 2025 at 12 pm at Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton.
