Chad McCorkle passed away at the age of 49. Chad is survived by his wife, Kellie, his sons, Cale (Lyric) and Kailin (Maddie), stepson, Alex Hurst, and stepdaughter, Mikkaela Vawter (Devon); and grandson, Asher, who will be born next month. Chad will also be missed by his trusted sidekick Trigger Aloysius O’Hara McCorkle. Chad is the son of Eddie and Tina McCorkle of Camdenton, MO, and nephew of Nancy Case of Grain Valley, MO. He was a brother to Shelly Burres of Kansas City, MO, and Michael Haynes (Liz) of Kansas City, MO. He is also survived by his in-laws Kathleen and Dwayne Peacock of Bremerton and Karen and Thomas of Bremerton; brother-in-law, Corey Pruitt (Nancy), and their children, Paige, Malaya, and Luka; and sister-in-law, Angela Gilbert (Ammon) and their children, Finn, Harper, and Miles; and many aunts, uncles, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sue McCorkle, brothers, Shane and Clint McCorkle, grandpa Iver McCorkle, uncle Roy and aunt Sally Hubbard.
Chad graduated summa cum laude from St. Martin’s University with a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice in 2012. He honorably served in the Army from 1994 to 1997 at Fort Lewis, WA. He was employed as a background investigator at CACI at the time of his death.
Chad enjoyed hiking, camping, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and Red Zone. He referred to Mt. Rainier as his mountain and always planned to travel back to Scotland. He always did everything big, two feet in, with a sarcastic wit.
Chad would donate to veteran organizations and was always there to lend a hand to friends and family in need. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him in life. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
