Charles William Hurst

Charles W. Hurst, age 94 passed away on May 24, 2017. He was born on 3/10/1923, to Ethel Mae (McCoy) Hurst and Charles William Hurst in Stockton, CA. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married his wife Antoinette (Castro) Hurst in Stockton, CA. on 1/9/1949. They were soulmates for 68 years. In 1951 he moved to Guam where he and Antoinette raised 7 children. He loved island living and did lots of diving and underwater photography. The family moved to the Silverdale area in January 1975. He worked the rest of his career at Subase Bangor.

Charles is survived by his wife, Antoinette; and children Ginger, Nanette, Gregory, Alice, Laura, Jennifer and Tiffany. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his younger brother Bob of Stockton, CA and his sister Shirley of southern CA. He was proceeded in death by 2 grandsons. He was a family man and loved spending time with his family.

Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 9256 Nels Nelson Road NW, Bremerton, WA.
