She was a wonderful wife who married her husband Estanislao “Stan” Serrame on November 24, 1973 in Manila. Eventually she joined Stan, who was stationed in California with the U.S. Navy and the two created a loving family together. Over the years they moved to Guam, Hawaii, then eventually settled in Port Orchard, Washington.
Cora was devoted to her family. She raised a daughter Karen, and a son Kevin. When her children grew up her daughter had two children of her own, Sailor and Zoe, who Cora cared so much for. Hanna, as the grandchildren liked to call her, helped raise them. She was the “rock” of the family, and was always around to listen, give advice, assist, and be a super mom; that person who you can really count on to be there for you.
Cora was passionate about children and education. She became a teacher after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines in 1972. She had over 30 years of experience teaching various grade levels at different schools. She was a beloved pre-school teacher at Christian Life Center in Port Orchard for two decades before retiring in 2006.
Cora is survived by: husband Stan; children Karen and Kevin; son-in-law Harold; granddaughters Sailor and Zoe; sister Norma; brothers Ramon, Patrocinio and Perfecto; sister-in-law Aurora; and her many loved ones. She is preceded in death by: father Felix; mother Florencia; and her brothers Alfredo and Ernesto; her brother-in-law Arturo; and several other family members who had passed.
She left behind a legacy and will sorely be missed. Corazon will always be in our heart, we love her dearly. May she rest in peace, and God bless her soul.
