Danny was born on May 21,1940 to Alma and Ralph Fleming in Burdine, KY. At age 17, Danny left school to join the Navy. But learned that life would be difficult without a proper education. So while in Alameda CA, he attended night classes and received his high school diploma.
Danny rose up through the ranks from Boatswain Mate working in laundry, to ship’s store. Later to move into Intelligence where he went from working in Washington DC to the USS Ranger during the Vietnam War. While the Ranger was docked in the Philippines, Danny met his future wife Maria and they would write to each other while he was out to sea. Before heading home as the war was about to wind down, they stopped once more in the Philippines and on October 29, 1972, Danny married Maria. They, along with two of her children, Jerry and Nerisa, made it to Oahu, Hawaii where they had their child, Solon.
After a few years, Danny was stationed in Bremerton WA where he decided to retire after 21 years of service. He began attending Olympic College to earn his A.A and took a machinist position at Keyport where he retired in the late 90’s. He then started working for Goodwill starting in receiving and making his way to assistant manager. He finally fully retired in 2010
Danny was a very hard working man who loved life with his family and friends. He often made time to listen to everyone's problems and offer advice when needed. Often being very blunt if you were wrong and letting you know. If he was able to help, he would make it happen.
Danny is preceded in death by his brothers Steve and Franklin, and eldest son Jerry.
And survived by his wife of 53 years Maria, daughter Nerisa, son Solon. He was also a grandfather to six and a great grandfather. His surviving siblings are Wayne and Kay.
